  • 1¼ "Baader Solar Continuum Filter, ZWL 540nm with 1¼" screw-in thread.
  • A MUST for owners of refractors: These cut out the spectral range in a narrow band, on which a lens optic draws the sharpest and most high-contrast. The Solar Continuum Filter brings you back performance
  • Increases the contrast and blocks atmospheric turbulence (in combination with white light solar filters)
  • Important note: The Solar Continuum Filter may ONLY be used for purely VISUAL solar observation with additional filtering (e.g. Herschel prism or AstroSolar solar filter film).

  • Solar Continuum Filter - for visual and photographic observations

Provides the highest contrast in the sun's photosphere. The filter works like a monochrome - it suppresses the effects of atmospheric turbulence and thus enables images that are significantly sharper. Owners of refractors cut out the spectral range in a narrow band, on which a lens optic draws the sharpest and richest in contrast.

    IMPORTANT NOTE ON SOLAR OBSERVATION:

The filter may SolarContinuum for the purely VISUAL observation only in conjunction with our Herschel prism or the AstroSolar Safety film (ND 5.0) are used

The combination of AstroSolar Photo Film (ND 3.8) and Solar Continuum Filter is only used to photograph the sun at the highest magnifications ?? in connection with a suitable projection eyepiece. This is only necessary in order to still achieve short exposure times despite very high re-magnification and correspondingly extremely long telescope focal lengths. AstroSolar photo film (ND 3.8) is also not suitable for mounting directly in front of a camera lens. The resulting image brightness is far too high.
