Flexible heater against dew condensation
In a clear night, most surfaces radiate much heat and cool down. As soon as the temperature falls below the dew point, dew forms and the observations are over.
A dew heater replaces the radiated heat without causing turbulence and thus bad seeing, therefore keeps the temperature above the dew point and prevents dew formation.
