Exoplanet transit captured by the researcher Ioannis Gkolias, member of the A.U.TH research team, using our Prodromos facilities!

TOI-1259Ab is a gas giant, orbiting a K-Type star at 385 light years away from Earth and was discovered in 2021 using the transit method.

Our Prodromos observatory hosts the AUTH3 research telescope which was installed in early April. Taking advantage of the superb astronomical conditions of the area, the A.U.TH team scans the sky every night capturing satellite trajectories, exoplanets and other phenomena - entirely via internet remote control!
